Forget current affairs after 2 weeks? Follow this easy 5-step revision plan and 30-day schedule to remember news, dates and facts for SSC, Banking, Railway and PET exams.

Do you read current affairs every day but forget them after two weeks? You are not alone. Almost every student faces this problem. The good news is that you can fix it. You do not need more study hours. You need a simple revision plan.
In this post you will learn
A scientist named Hermann Ebbinghaus showed this in 1885. He called it the forgetting curve. It says that we forget new things very fast, mostly in the first few days. But if we revise a fact again at the right time, we remember it for much longer.
Many students only re-read their notes. This feels good, but it does not help much. What really works is trying to recall the answer without looking. That is why quizzes are so powerful.
Follow these steps for each day's news. Just keep the schedule.
| Step | When | What to do | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Same day | Read the news. Write one short line for each important story. | 10 min |
| 2 | Next day (D+1) | Hide your notes. Answer yesterday's 10 questions again. | 5 min |
| 3 | After 3 days (D+3) | Redo only the questions you got wrong. Say the answer aloud. | 5 min |
| 4 | After 7 days (D+7) | Take the weekly quiz. Then check which topics are weak. | 20 min |
| 5 | After 30 days (D+30) | Solve the whole month's MCQ set one more time. | 45 min |
Long notes are boring, so you stop reading them. Keep each note to one line. Write four things:
Example of a one-line note
| Week | Every day (20 min) | On the weekend |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Read the news, write one-line notes, take the daily quiz | Take the weekly quiz |
| Week 2 | Same as Week 1, plus D+1 and D+3 revision | Weekly quiz, then redo all wrong questions |
| Week 3 | Same, and group your notes by subject | Weekly quiz, then revise one full subject |
| Week 4 | Same, and do the D+7 and D+30 checks | Weekly quiz, then the month's MCQ set |
